An evangelical looks for signs of one, holy, catholic and apostolic church among Christians identifying themselves as Anglicans. Apparently the signs are there if one searches diligently ...
Alternatively, if the church is an ongoing argument about how to follow Jesus, then let's resolve to end the argument well!
Good News about Peter Beck being elected to the City Council.
In the midst of the present contretemps, one hopes that Peter's (albeit anonymous) priestly presence will help to bring change for the better - in terms of the human relationships involved.
Also, who knows? He might be able to help with some decision on the erection of a new cathedral.
In other election news, new bishops for Edinburgh (a shame our vicar Mike Parker wasn't elected, but great that we'll enjoy his ministry for a while longer) and North West Australia (largest Anglican diocese by landmass in the world I understand): http://www.edinburgh.anglican.org/index.php/whats_on/news_entry/new_bishop_of_edinburgh http://www.achurchnwa.org/dfc/newsdetail_2/3151560
